I am TRYING TO , joining the army national guard?

trying to join arng, does it always take this long to join?? when i went in the navy i was ready to go in like 2 weeks. i have been talking to the guard for a month begging them to get the show on the road and so far all ive gotten acomplished is giving them my name and phone #, and address. they will say come down at 3 sign some papers, then i go and no one around. they say let me set you up for a physical on jan 20, then a week later they say all physicals are cancelled, cant get one until march. today they say maybe feb 16. heck im ready to go!! also they say that since im prior service i wont have to go to bct just a 4 week refresher, true??
