In America can you get the main networks on satellite? I want the jay leno show and SNL ect?

can you get the jay leno show and SNL on the 180 satellite channel package. and can you get it on local cabel??? we really wanna watch regis and kelly ect??? also what does local cabel mean and how different is it to satellite???
