Is it worth coming onto 'Current Events' any longer?

It seems to me that there is not much news being discussed..I don't mind chat or party questions, in fact I like them, but what I don't like is the continual spite and bile that colours so many posts. I am a bit too old for playground politics and I suspect I am not alone in this? What do you think? This question is not directed at the trolls, though no doubt they'll be out in force.
